Boldly exploring the depths of connectedness through analog photography and cinematography, Hungarian-born András Ladocsi reveals to us the harmony of human nature.
The recent graduate of the MA photography program at London’s Royal College of Art is lauded for his work’s rawness and vulnerability, featured globally in such exhibitions as The New Vanguard Prize, Hyères Festival, and Photo Vogue Festival. Along with fashion industry clients Bottega Veneta and Frank Ocean’s Homer, Ladocsi has recently been awarded by Dior and the PhMuseum 2023 Photography Grant.
Stemming from a teacher’s determined encouragement, Ladocsi committed himself to the arts and joined Moholy-Nagy University of Arts and Design in Budapest, photographing his friends and community. He quickly built a portfolio that intimately captures personal fragments of his subjects, honoring the languid liquidity of bodily movement and thematic of water itself—penetrable, unrelenting, at once tranquil and immensely powerful. These themes recall the importance of our earthly environment, our primal bond, and the infallible perseverance of humanity. Emotional and fully engaging, Ladocsi’s lens becomes a conduit for understanding the intrinsic ties that bind us.
